New edc arrived yesterday. Kershaw Ken Onion Leek in blackwash. Usually I go for a larger frame/blade with multiple angles but these tiny guys are too cool.
And yes that's Mr Salmon trying to steal it.
(Blade looks off but is just picking up reflection)

RJ II 1980 (top) and Brawler. RJ II has been through quite a lot and may need to be replaced ... but its been through hell. Assisted open still works fine though...

I need a new rescue knife. My parents bought me a really nice emergency swiss army knife but I misplaced it :( now I'm looking for something slim enough I can keep comfortably in my boot

Benchmade 950 Rift. My current EDC for the last year, and I really, really like this knife. It's beautiful and the axis lock is quite handy.
It replaced my stainless Spyderco Delica:
Carried this knife every day for 15 years. Felt perfect in my hand, and it took a lot of abuse.

Usually carry a Spyderco Delica but recently I've had this Buck Rush on me. Spring assist is fun and I like the skeleton frame. Watching TV it's open-close-open-close for hours haha.

Here are mine, at least the ones I have with me now; pics upside down for some reason. There's the Swiss Soldier knife, a mini folder, my pink knife that I got for free from Scouts Canada, and my eating knife. The ones I don't currently have with me are:
Buck 119 Special
And a generic multitool and some other small folders.

I'm not really a "knife guy" (I don't carry one with me normally), but I used to and I recognize their usefulness. For that reason I like to keep one around, even if it's not on my person. Here's a simple Victorinox I picked up when I was in Switzerland.
I have another larger Victorinox with a few more useful tools that I keep in my car. I find the pliers, scissors, and screwdrivers much more useful than the blade on most occasions. I guess I should probably get a Leatherman or something, although to be honest I just prefer the style of the Swiss knives.
I have a friend who is suuuuper into knives. When we were in Munich he bought this approximately $450 custom knife with a handle made of mammoth molar harvested from Siberia. At that point it's really more of a decorative work of art, but it's his hobby so whatevs. He also has a bunch of other Kershaws, Benchmades (I think I'm getting these names right), and some other stuff. I'll see if I can get a picture of his collection.

This is what I carry at all times, my pruning/cuttings knife. I have a Mora as a general utility knife, but it stays in the Land Rover.

Great minds think alike! I switch off between the blackwash Leek and my rainbow Chive

I EDC a Benchmade 530 Pardue. Used to carry a Kershaw Shallot (the Leek's slightly larger cousin), but the 530 is just so much lighter and easier on my pocket. I've also got a CRKT Fulcrum Flame (in that gloriously flamboyant titanium oxide rainbow coating) and a CRKT Eraser. The former because it's hilariously weird, and the latter because it fits into Tae Kwon Do really easily and makes a nice back-up whenever I venture into some of the worse parts of Detroit.

Need to point out that the fact that Ken Onion knives are all named after onions is brilliant.

Here's a picture of my friend's collection. The exotic knife I talked about in my other reply is the third one from the left, and for scale it's about 8-9" long I think. The box is custom made by his uncle, which is super cool.

My blade. I carry it all of the time. Fits very well in the "5th pocket" of my jeans

I do love old school design. Don't see them too much lately

From bottom up;
Everyday carry, hiking carry and latest purchase in need of some resto.
The newest blade is a puukko (unsure of manufacturer but def Finnish blade), hiking blade is a Mora Forest Exclusive Laminated blade and my everyday is a Leatherman.
Both Scandinavian blades are carbon steel. I have a quite few more but they're work blades spread about the house depending on use.

I take it you do a bit of woodworking as well?

Moras are awesome. I got one when I was 10 or so, and still have it. Amazingly tough knives.

I love the look of some hammer forged knives, the want is strong. That's a very pretty set of knives.

I have a Leatherman Surge but I have a Higo Nokami for less crazy stuff.
![]() 03/28/2015 at 12:44 |

EDC: Letterman skeletool multitool. Few tools but thats exactly why I like it. As well as single hand operation and thumb lock for blade.
Outdoor: Morakniv, so much better than I thought it would be. And inexpensive enough I'm happy to try and test is limits.
And my go to kitchen knives because these are everyday knifes as well for me.

yeah I do a lot of cooking, makes it enjoyable! They also stay very sharp, though I do have a nice diamond sharpening set I use every once in a while...

Both, one goes in the bag, the other on the hip.
Theyre really convenient for work. My other knives are not really EDC material.

Dominican military machete, my great grandpas butcher/hunting knife, my other grandpas Case knife, and a black no serrations Cutco model 1769. I have a Leatherman Surge too that I use for work but I couldn't find it. I've been meaning to buy a nice dedicated folding knife for a while.

I'm an architecture student in a design-build studio. I didn't have any pictures of my knife, and just happened to be in the architecture woodshop when I read the original post.

Nice. Certainly nothing wrong with that!
Although I never took shop class in high school, I'm slowly getting into woodworking. Right now I'm teaching a class over at our local university, and have made a few friends in the arts department. They have some pretty awesome equipment there.

just pack a Leatherman in my work and hiking packs, but I have Globals in the kitchen (and love them.) Additionally - I'm pleasantly surprised how well Leathermans take and keep and edge.
